Her gloves are delicate figured lace, her shoes gold lame with leather soles and artistic brass ball (bead) heels. A reversible evening cape, brocaded one side and smooth satin the other, keeps Cissy warm and accents her gown. The final touch is the hand beaded necklace of gold glass and a beaded gold lame purse.
I like a full skirt to puff so gather yards and yards of fabric about the waist which had to be cut low to fit it all in. Then the underskirt needs even more fabric and an even lower waistline and looks so dramatic of itself that I've played with a daring top that reveals Cissy's beautiful back. And she wears it so elegantly! So a reversible top added to the underskirt of the TURQUOISE LACE AND GOLD LAME FORMAL makes a second outfit, THE TURQUOISE TULLE AND SATIN GOWN.
Lagana outfits have hand signed labels and come in gift boxes made from rag mat board required for framing fine prints because this board will not yellow the valuable print or these outfits.
These costumes are one of a kind. I have no more of these fabrics and were I to copy the dress in another fabric, the design would change some as the fabric I'm working with guides the design. I have 4 more outfits cut which I will sew and sell next year. Then my 20 year collection of fabrics and laces will be gone and I will make no more outfits, but will concentrate on fine prints. The details in these outfits require painstaking hours, the entire ensemble at least a week, not counting searching fabrics and publishing on ebay. So I cannot afford to make them for less than about $300@.
